Participation in the Partnership Program can also serve as a valuable educational resource with on-site training programs as well as the transfer of knowledge from Acmeware to your IT staff. Data Repository Application Support

Support of the DR module can be daunting as it has many characteristics not associated with a typical MEDITECH module. The DR application includes MAGIC or C/S application and system components as well as Microsoft Windows Server and SQL Server components. Acmeware’s unique knowledge of the MEDITECH architecture and technologies as well as the Microsoft platforms on which the DR resides provides us the skill set necessary to efficiently and accurately support the DR. Our support role typically consists of:

  • Ring-release update support / testing
  • DR table joining strategies
  • DR data integrity audits and auto requeue of identified problem data
  • DR table update monitoring including automated notification of update problems
  • Data mapping strategies between MAGIC & C/S application modules and the DR tables

Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services

Microsoft has developed a powerful report development add-in to the SQL Server 2000 & 2005 RDMS. SQL Server Reporting Services (SRS) is a comprehensive, server-based reporting application that enables the creation, management, and delivery of both paper and web-based reports. As an early adopter of this technology, Acmeware has positioned our Partnership Program clients to rapidly and successfully develop and deploy innovative SRS based solutions.

Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (OLAP Cubes)

Microsoft SQL Server includes an Analysis Services server that can greatly enhance the data analysis capabilities of the DR application. Acmeware has developed scores of OLAP cubes for clients including data from Registration, Scheduling, Payroll, B/AR, Pharmacy and Nursing Applications. Acmeware can provide valuable insight to IT staff performing OLAP cube development in-house. Our services include:

SAP Business Objects Crystal Report Development

Crystal Reports is fast becoming the de facto standard for the healthcare report development community. Crystal provides an outstanding interactive development environment in which Acmeware developers can rapidly generate custom ad-hoc reports. Crystal Reports offers excellent data presentation options including the use of graphs, charts, and maps. Acmeware developed Crystal Reports can feature data summarization, grouping, sub-totals, running sub-totals, percentages, and running percentages of totals – many of which are difficult or impossible to achieve with the MEDITECH NPR Report Writer. Crystal Reports can be distributed to managers and executives using zero-client, web-based access through the use of their Enterprise Addition product.

Transact-SQL, Stored Procedures and Views

Acmeware will provide design, development and debugging support for SQL Server data access components including Stored Procedures and Views. We will assist in the design strategies to identify data captured in any of the MEDITECH application modules and stored within the DR for use in Transact-SQL statements. Our expertise will be employed to optimize the efficiency of Views or Queries developed to extract information from the DR. Acmeware will provide input into the use of temporary tables, permanent tables and table indexes, all of which can improve the design and performance of reporting applications.

SQL Server 2000 and 2005 Support Services

Acmeware has vast experience working with Microsoft SQL Server in a Data Repository environment. We have provided consulting services for customer upgrades from 7.0 to 2005 and have successfully maintained numerous SQL Server systems. Acmeware has provided training to more than twenty-five different MEDITECH Data Repository clients.
