CMS recently published the FY 2024 Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS) Proposed Rule which includes several proposed changes to the Hospital Inpatient Quality Reporting (IQR) Program and Medicare Promoting Interoperability (PI) Program for eligible hospitals (EHs) and critical access hospitals (CAHs). CMS proposed numerous changes including the adoption of three new measures and the refinement of three existing measures.
CMS proposes three new electronic clinical quality measures (eCQMs) available for self-selection beginning with the CY 2025 reporting period/ FY 2027 payment determination.
